See Ya Real Soon! (a.k.a. Thanks A Lot, Hurricane Ian!)

by SharonKurheg

Hi travel friends! If you’re reading this, it means that Hurricane Ian got too close to us here in Orlando, FL. We guess his winds were too strong and knocked down a tree that knocked down some electrical wiring, or maybe a circuit breaker exploded, or…something. Bottom line is that we currently have no electricity or no internet or perhaps both – we can’t tell you for sure. See, we wrote and scheduled this post ahead of time, and rescheduled it every time one of our regular posts were due, as long as we had access to the ‘net. So if we lost power and weren’t able to reschedule it, it would post. Pretty smart, huh? 😉

Whatever the case, if you’re reading this, it means we’re currently without power and/or internet.

Yeah, I know we joke around here a lot, but seriously, whatever problems we’re having right now, they’re nothing compared to what others are undoubtedly facing, so I promise we’re not whining about it.

This is not our first hurricane, we’re well prepared and confident we’ll do fine from a safety point of view. However, we don’t know what will happen in terms of having internet and/or electricity access over the next few days. So we’re going to close up shop here at YMMV for a little bit, hopefully for as short of a time as possible, and will be back as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience!

I believe, that for the most part, we dodged a bullet. Things could have been much worse than losing power and internet. Those are minor disturbances in the grand scheme of things. We are alive and well. That’s what’s important.
