American Airlines Offering Status For Nothing, Favorite Eats In Key West, Marriott Making It Harder To Stay With Them, & More!

Hi travel friends! Here are our most popular posts for September 2019. Some of them were actually written before September (heads up that rules and offers change and we can’t guarantee that those older posts are still accurate), so take a look to make sure you didn’t miss any of the good stuff:

Two Years Later And I Still Want The Buc-ee’s TDECU Credit Union MasterCard. Here’s Why.

I have many travel credit cards to my name (even more if you count the ones that Sharon has). I keep some of them, like the American Express Everyday Preferred, because they earn a lot of points. I have other cards, such as the Citi Prestige and the Chase Sapphire Reserve, because of the travel benefits they offer. I keep even others because of the very specific perks I get – the Chase Disney Visa is a good example of that.

It’s rare that I come across a credit card that I’ve never heard about and even rarer that I find a card I want to have for no rational reason at all. But leave it to me…I found one.

It’s a smart business choice because using a card for gas means that card will always be in your wallet or purse and you’re more likely to use that card for other purchases besides when you go to fill up the tank.

So during our pretty-much-almost-annual visit to New Braunfels to go to Schlitterbahn Water Park & Resort nearly every summer, I make sure we visit Buc-ee’s at least twice (occasionally more).

Ten Things In 2017 On Which We Can Look Back

I’m sitting at my desk on New Year’s Eve and looking back on what happened in 2017. One of the biggest events in our house was starting this website. It’s been a wild ride and I still remember when we were trying to decide on a name for the site. I’ll gladly admit that Your Mileage May Vary was Sharon’s idea (Note from Sharon: Mmmm hmmm!) but I was the one who convinced her it was a good name. Here we are now, 430 posts later. Thanks for joining us for the ride.  Continue reading “Ten Things In 2017 On Which We Can Look Back”
