Update on Hilton Guest Woken by Employee Suckling His Toes

Obviously, every profession has some bad apples. There are teachers who have been arrested for child abuse, blue collar workers who’ve been caught stealing items from the company so they can resell, white collar workers who’ve gone to jail for embezzlement, and even more than a few American political figures who have had been convicted of crimes. So although you may not think that a hotel manager would be charged with sexual assault on a sleeping guest, welp, think again.

It’s been reported that a manager at the Hilton Nashville Downtown allegedly sneaked into male guest’s room and began sucking on his toes.

According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, 52-year-old David Neal was the night manager at the hotel, which is located at 121 Fourth Avenue South.

The police report says that on March 30th, Neal allegedly made a key card and then used it to enter the guest’s room at around 5 o’clock in the morning. The guest told police he woke up and found Neal with his mouth around his toes, sucking on them.

“I was in Nashville for a work conference,” said the guest, who is a resident of Texas. “I awoke to a gentleman, an employee of the Hilton, assaulting me.

“[I] instantly jumped up and was screaming. Went into sort of fact-finding mode. Who are you? Why are you in my room? What are you doing here?” the guest told NewsChannel 5. “I could see he was wearing a uniform, he had his name tag on. He was talking to me but not giving me any substantive answers.”

The guest said he recognized him as the hotel employee who had entered his room the previous day, that time with another employee, because he (the guest) was having with his TV, according to investigators.

The guest said he called the hotel security guard, who was not helpful. So he then called Metro Police.

Officers arrived at the hotel and spoke with Neal who admitted to entering the guest’s room. However he said he did so after he allegedly smelled smoke and wanted to check on the victim. The police further say that Neal had not reported the smell of smoke to security. There were also no other reports of anyone smelling smoke in the hotel around that time.

The room key was not recovered. Neal told investigators that he had thrown the key away.

According to police, Neal was arrested May 5th at his home in Lebanon, TN, and and charged with aggravated burglary and assault. He was jailed on a $27,000 bond.

NewsChannel 5 contacted the Hilton Corporation. Michelle Myers, a spokesperson for Hilton, said, “Hilton Nashville Downtown is independently owned and operated by a third party and no Hilton entity employs staff at this property. The safety and security of our guests is our top priority and Hilton takes matters such as these very seriously.”

A local manager of the hotel was also quoted as saying, “The safety and security of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We are working closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, and, as part of company policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”

The guest, who has since begun litigation, says, “I’m having problems sleeping frankly, I’m going through some PTSD, talking to a therapist. I still don’t feel safe in my own home.”
