Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter is putting the finishing touches on its newest attraction, a roller coaster called Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.
Universal has been periodically doling out photos and information about the attraction, which is set to open on June 13, but now they’ve released the best stuff yet – point of view video footage!

We’ve seen a few theme parks around the world that rip off Disney parks. There’s the one in Japan that we visited in 2005 (OMG, the videos!!!). It closed in 2006, but this one in Beijing, China is still up and running and still with Disney knockoffs galore. But we had never seen a theme park that had blatant copies of Harry Potter stuff.

Sharon and I were both late to the Harry Potter phenomenon. It took a good friend of ours to get us hooked on the books (he had a trick of loaning the first book to people as something of a “gateway drug” to get them started). I can even remember the day I read the first book. In January 2006, I brought Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone with me on a plane ride to California (yes, people actually brought books with them back then). I finished it before the end of the trip and started the second book on the way home, Sharon started reading the books before me and we were both already four movies behind, but we took our work seriously and in no time we were caught up and have been fans ever since.

Lots of airports are a whole lot of fun during the Christmas season. Sure, some offer local entertainment, but others go a whole lot further. Munich Airport, for example, opens a seasonal Christmas Market, complete with 2 ice rinks and nearly 500 real trees. But frankly, I think Singapore’s Changi Airport may have them all beat this year because they’ve brought The Wizarding World of Harry Potter into THREE of its terminals, with what they call “A Wizarding World Holiday at Changi.”
