What A Great Way To Keep Kids Entertained On A Plane!

Traveling with children, especially young children, on a plane can be a challenge even during the best of times. And if someone’s on a plane with their kid(s) and aren’t prepared to keep them busy, entertained and quiet for however many hours, well, is there any reason that the thought of child-free zones on aircraft doesn’t pop up every once in a while?

Airlines realize that providing some sort of entertainment for kids is important. Many have coloring sets (I don’t know if they still have them but Delta even had these last year and I loved them for it!), which will keep them busy for a little while, but this airline is offering something much different and, I think, better…

Or it could be the one who’s in front of you and stands on his seat so he can smear his boogers on the top of his seat back, right where you can see them.

Of course, sometimes you get a well behaved angel sitting near you, who’s quiet, does what his/her caregivers say, and at the end of the flight, I hope you praise the child and caregivers for how well behaved (s)he is. I know I do. But back to the times when there’s a very disruptive little one sitting near you…

Why You Shouldn’t Give A Young Child A Passport

According to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, all U.S. citizen must possess his or her own passport if they plan to travel outside of the United States (well, with the exception of Canada and Mexico – there are other options for those two). I get that and it makes total sense, not only in a governmental “We need to know where all our citizens are at all times” way, but also in a “We need to know the identify and nationality of all visitors to our country” POV.

That being said, there’s one thing you don’t want do with any of your family’s passports.

Don’t give them to a young child. Here’s why:
