Delta Returning Kids’ Menu To Many Flights

by SharonKurheg

I’ve never made it a secret that I’m very short. I have a diagnosed growth disorder, was born little and stayed little. So, as someone who’s 4’6″ tall, you can imagine that a full-sized adult meal is sometimes a little too much for my pint-sized body. Besides, let’s face it…sometimes you’re just in the MOOD for cheese tortellini with marinara sauce, with veggies on the side and Teddy Grahams for dessert.

Anyway, if you have kids, or if you’re just kid-sized like me…or maybe you’re just a picky eater who prefers what’s on the kids’ menu, REJOICE…Delta Air Lines is bringing back their kids’ menu to many flights.

The smaller-sized, kid-friendly dishes were paused during the pandemic, along with adult meal service. But whereas adult options returned quite a while back, and even its beloved signature Delta One dessert cart was returned early this year,  kids’ meals had not.

Until now. They’re coming back!

While the kids’ meals were gone, Delta took the time to work with their chefs, as well as a registered dietician, to redevelop the menu, so they could taste good and still be nutritious. The new menu will include the following:

  • Scrambled eggs, French toast with syrup, fruit (strawberries, blueberries and pineapple) and a small blueberry muffin.
Lunch & Dinner
  • Cheese tortellini with marinara sauce and parmesan, carrots and broccoli with ranch dressing, fruit (kiwi, watermelon and orange slices), and graham cookies.

The kids’ meals will be available in all cabins on long-haul international flights and first class on most domestic routes. To ensure the kids’ meal is available, they must be reserved at least 24 hours before departure. They will be found in the “special meals” section of the Delta app or MyTrips on the Delta website (where one requests Kosher/vegan/vegetarian meals and makes the airline aware of a food allergy).

Passengers can start requesting kids meals on March 23rd for flights departing after April 1st.
