Virgin Atlantic Offers A Nice Selection Of Non-Alcoholic Drinks

by joeheg

“Dry January” is over and many people took the opportunity to re-evaluate their alcohol consumption. Even if you were just doing “Damp January” (yes, it’s a real thing), you are hopefully more aware of your alcohol intake.

Previously, cutting out alcohol left you drinking club soda at a bar or restaurant. That’s no longer the case, as non-alcoholic beer, wine and even spirits are one of the fastest-growing segments of the beverage industry.

Understand that in the US and UK, 0.5% ABV or under is considered non-alcoholic because your body metabolizes alcohol faster than you’d feel any effect. If you want or need to totally avoid alcohol, make sure a product is 0.0% ABV.

Passengers aboard Virgin Atlantic flights can now enjoy a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

Virgin Atlantic serves two different Three Spirits products. Not based on spirits, these elixirs are plant-based and use adaptogens to provide an interesting drink experience.

Three Spirit Livener – The Party Starter. Naturally invigorating, exotic and fiery. Best enjoyed over ice topped with tonic water (high in natural caffeine).

I’ve tried Three Spirit Livener and I really like it. It’s a little sweet but has a fiery finish that leaves your mouth a little tingly. It also has a kick of caffeine so don’t have too many if you’re planning to sleep on the plane. I agree with the suggestion to serve with tonic water.

Three Spirit Nightcap – The Dream Maker. Naturally soothing, woody and mellow. Best enjoyed neat over ice or topped with ginger ale.

While Livener is meant to keep the party going, Nightcap is for when it’s time to wind down.

Final Thoughts

Virgin Atlantic has been out front in offering non-alcoholic options in their Clubhouses and onboard flights. Now that are more options on the market, it’s great to see them expanding their selection with some unique offerings.
