Earn 25-50 Miles Per Dollar By Donating To Cancer Research

by joeheg

In 2016, American Airlines started a partnership with Stand Up To Cancer, a  501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises funds “to accelerate the pace of research to get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now.”

Tangible proof of the partnership can be found on an American Airlines Airbus 321 with tail number N162AA.

In 2019, you could add the name of a cancer survivor, patient, or someone you lost to cancer for a donation of $25 or more. In all, there are 22,627 names on the plane, including the name of my father-in-law,  who battled cancer until it eventually took him from us.

This year they aren’t doing anything as extravagant as creating a new livery. However, American is again offering AAdvantage members the chance to earn 25 AAdvantage miles for every dollar you give on a donation from $25 – $10,000. Thanks to Mastercard, you’ll earn 50 miles per dollar by using an American Airlines AAdvantage Mastercard to make your donation until a total of $1,000,000 in donations have been made.

According to the promotion rules, miles earned do not count towards status qualification.

Donations can be made at https://standuptocancer.org/american-airlines-donate-50-mile/

The promotion ends on September 30, so you have a few more days to join me and kick in some dollars to make a difference.

I just discovered this yesterday while making a donation in celebration of my daughter-in-law’s birthday. Great bonus for donating to a great cause! Thanks for highlighting this.
