Another Luxury Hotel Coming To Orlando: Nobu Will Open in 2025

by joeheg

There’s been a flurry of announcements about luxury hotels in Orlando:

That’s on top of the Swan Reserve, which opened in 2021 and the JW Marriott which opened in 2020.

Orlando’s luxury hotel market is booming, as previously there were only two high-end properties in the theme park corridor.

Another player is going to enter the market, as Nobu Hotels just announced they would be opening 300 room resort in Orlando. Details are limited about the project and I’ve seen opening dates ranging from 2024-2025. The hotel website says, “The resort will feature 300 accommodations including eight stunning villas, a Nobu restaurant, 50 stylish residences, and meeting and event space.”

No location has been announced, with the only hint being the vague statement “[the hotel] is set in the heart of Orlando and just moments from world renowned theme parks and family entertainment attractions.” [Note from Sharon: By the way, there ain’t no such location. If you’re in “the heart of Orlando,” you’re a good 15 miles from the closest major theme park. Unless they define “moments away” as a half hour or more, with traffic…? Just sayin’…]

Nobu is a luxury brand with restaurants and hotel locations around the globe. The company, helmed by world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, currently has thirteen hotels with an additional sixteen locations in development.

Each hotel is claimed to be a curated experience where every property is different.

I’m looking forward to seeing what they have planned for Orlando.

I noticed that, about the impossible location description, too. At https://www.hospitalitynet.org/announcement/41008183/nobu-hotel-orlando.html they have a map that pins the location on the intersection where the Grand Bohemian is. I don’t know if that’s based on information, or is just a generic downtown location. It made me wonder, though, if this is going to replace the Grand Bohemian.

I saw the same locator but I figured it was just a generic “Orlando” since they talk about villas and there’s no room for those in that space.
