TSA PreCheck Adds 2 New Airlines & CLEAR’s In 1 More Airport

by SharonKurheg

Those who travel a lot will tell you that THE best way to travel through airports is to have a TSA PreCheck membership – it can save you a whole lot of time (although not as much as it used to).

If you have a CLEAR membership, it can save you even more time, either in conjunction with your TSA PreCheck membership, or just to avoid all the queues before the airport’s TSA security checkpoint (although you can also do that, usually for free, in these select airports, which are offering their own “skip the queue” options [some of which, coincidentally, are powered by CLEAR]).

However both programs, TSA PreCheck and CLEAR, are only as helpful as where they’re offered. You can only use your TSA PreCheck option for airlines that have partnered with the PreCheck program. Similarly, you can only use CLEAR at airports that, well, have CLEAR in them.

Fortunately, both programs have announced some recent additions to their respective programs.

TSA PRECHECK

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced the expansion of its TSA PreCheck program, with the addition of two more airlines that will participate in its expedited screening program. They are:

  • Advanced Air
  • Eurowings Discover

Advanced Air is a privately-owned, regional airline that provides service to destinations throughout the Southwestern United States including Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

Eurowings Discover, a new airline of the Lufthansa Group, serves airline travelers from the German hubs of Frankfurt and Munich to a variety of destinations worldwide including North- and Central America, Africa, and Europe.

With these 2 additions, TSA PreCheck is currently offered in 2 countries (the U.S. and one international location) by 83 airlines.

CLEAR

CLEAR just announced that their expedited lanes are now available at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), located midway between (you guessed it) Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina.

This addition marks their fourth airport launch in 2022, their 44th in the country and, best of all, their expansion into the Carolinas. Whoop whoop!

“GSP is always looking for ways to make the airport experience easier and more predictable. Partnering with CLEAR provides our customers expedited access to security screening at GSP and many other major airports,” said GSP President and CEO Dave Edwards. “We are confident our passengers will appreciate CLEAR’s expedited screening process and we are looking forward to providing another great amenity for our travelers.”
