Olivia Culpo: Similar Clothes, Different Airline. Here’s What Happened This Time

by SharonKurheg

Top model and Sports Illustrated cover girl Olivia Culpo was flying to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last week, with her sister Aurora and boyfriend, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey. She got into a kerfluffle with American Airlines at the airport, when the airline’s representatives, according to Aurora,”…call her up to the desk and tell her that she needs to put a blouse on; otherwise, she can’t get on the plane.”

Besides her mask and sneakers, Culpo was wearing a long black cardigan, sports bra and biker shorts. According to American Airlines’ contract of carriage, passengers must, “Dress appropriately; bare feet or offensive clothing aren’t allowed.” No one outside of the American Airlines representatives was really sure what was offensive about a cardigan over a sports bra and biker shorts, but Olivia borrowed McCaffrey’s gray hoodie, wore that over the outfit, and the trio were on their way to Cabo.

Cupo may or may not have trolled American a few days later… 😉

Anyway, their visit to Cabo St. Lucas was short and sweet. On their way home, Culpo was seen wearing a teal sports bra, teal leggings, what looks like the same black cardigan. No one said a word about the “appropriateness” of her outfit.

The only difference? They apparently flew home on Delta, not American. Delta’s contract of carriage regarding dress code is (A) no bare feet and (B) “When the passenger’s conduct, attire, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers.”

So there ya go. And take that, American Airlines.
