Two More Airlines Join TSA PreCheck Program

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced the expansion of its TSA PreCheck program, with the addition of two more airlines that will participate in its expedited screening program. They are:

• El Al Israeli Airlines
• Global Crossing

As per TSA’s press release dated November 15, 2021, this brings the total number of TSA PreCheck participating domestic and international carriers to 81. Here’s a list of them.

Based in Tel Aviv, El Al Israel Airlines was established in 1948. It currently operates from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Miami International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, with daily direct flights between the United States and Israel.

Global Crossing is charter airline that serves the United States, Caribbean and Latin America markets.

Other “fun facts” about TSA PreCheck (some from the press release, some from us):

• TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that enables low-risk travelers to enjoy a smart and efficient screening experience at more than 200 U.S. airports.
• TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers when departing from a U.S. airport or when connecting on domestic flights after returning to the United States. Travelers who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and U.S. lawful permanent residents can apply for TSA PreCheck for a cost of $85 for a five-year membership (and renewals have recently decreased!)
• Other passengers who are eligible for TSA PreCheck include members of the three U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Trusted Traveler programs – Global Entry (even if you’re not from the U.S.!), NEXUS and SENTRI (here’s how to decide which of those is best for you). It’s also available (for FREE!) for U.S. Armed Forces service members, including those serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Reserves, and National Guard.
• Enrolled airline passengers should look for the TSA Pre✓® indicator (such as TSAPRECHK, TSA PRE, or TSA Pre✓®) on their boarding pass to know if they are eligible for TSA PreCheck screening before their flight.
