A Humorous Look At First Class Travel (For The Rest Of Us)

by SharonKurheg

For some people in the points/miles/travel world, flying first class is an everyday occurrence to the point where it’s no big deal to them. Maybe they have a bajillion miles because they churn credit cards and know how to spend well or something like that. Or maybe they’re fortunate enough to be able to spend the ridiculous amount of money airlines ask for a first-class seat. Or maybe their company is willing to foot that bill. Perhaps they’re able to pull first-class every once in a great while, with careful frequent flyer mile savings. Or perhaps they’re like most of us who might get to glance at the first-class section while walking to our economy class seats, but that’s as close as we get.

Welp, for the rest of us, here’s a funny (and clean!) video of an “only see First Class as they pass by it” passenger during his very first experience in First Class, as well as after he landed:

Wife and I fly maybe 4 times a year. We only fly first class, we dont use points. And the cost is not that bad if you buy far enough in advance.

You’re right – it’s not that bad for some people. For others, it is (or at least isn’t worth the upcharge to them; to each his/her own).

Either way, Mr. Bean is still delightful 😉

I usually think of the experiences I could pay for with that extra $$ and end up in E+. On our last trip we could upgrade our last leg (SFO to TPA) for $250. Now that was worth it! Especially at the end of a loooong trip!

It’s not that first class is all that great (on most airlines) it’s just that economy is that bad. Flying domestic first on a beat up old 737 is like getting the jacuzzi suite at the Super 8 because you have the “CDL discount” and “Status” while your fellow slobs get stuck in a regular room where the tv doesn’t work right and it kinds smells funny.
