Tourism Slogans Of Every Country: The Good, The Bad & The “Someone Paid You To Make That Up?”

by SharonKurheg

Not surprisingly, countries do quite a bit to market themselves in an effort to increase tourism, and one of those things is to use slogans. I know, who knew, right? Anyway, a U.K.-based website called FamilyBreakFinder collected all of them a few years ago (38 countries don’t have a slogan, but all the rest do) and put them onto one big map.

In looking at the map, some of the slogans are lovely (Egypt: “Where It All Begins,” Gambia: “The Smiling Coast of Africa”), while others make us wonder if they couldn’t have worked a little harder to make up a nice one (Slovakia: “Travel in Slovakia – Good Idea,” England: “Discover Your England”). Some may make you smile if, like me, you have the sense of humor of a 12-year-old boy (Tajikistan: “Feel The Friends”), while others make us a little bit sad (Syria: “Always Beautiful”). It was also kind of fun to see the countries who tried to be as creative as possible (i.e., Djibouti’s is “Djibeauty,” and Slovenia’s is “I feel sLOVEnia”).

Here they all are:
