10 of The Funniest Flight Attendant Safety Spiels Ever

by SharonKurheg

We all know the drill…before the plane takes off, the flight attendants have to tell us what we need to do regarding cabin safety in the event of an emergency. We’re all supposed to watch the demonstration so we know where the exits are, how to use the seat belt, oxygen mask and life vests, to not smoke or mess with the smoke detectors on the plane, etc. Most of us watch the demonstration every single time because we know how important it is. And we’ve all seen those who foolishly (and rudely) pay no attention whatsoever, mostly because they’re repetitive and sometimes kind of boring. But what if the safety demonstrations were like any of these?

When a plane crash lands, that is not funny. I prefer a succinct, plain, and not too fast safety briefing, maybe even repeating the most important parts.

Not so important is how to insert that flat metal piece into the receptacle. More important is to repeat that luggage must be left behind in case of an emergency evacuation.

Agree with Derek – safety instructions are not a fricking circus! Perhaps we have heard them many times before but alting out this circus is an insult to What the instructions are meant for!

Oh good grief. Yeah, never mind that NO ONE listens to the standard, rote, monotone reading of the safety instructions. Not even the first time flyers. There IS a card with the instructions in very simple-to-read terms WITH PICTURES!!!!

As for leaving their carry-ons behind, yeah. They either are or they aren’t and telling them 16 times isn’t going to change that.

I’ve flown with Marty Cobb and she is a delight and a outstanding flight attendant. And I’ve been flying (a lot) for 62 years so I’ve had just a little experience.
