The Bernie Sanders “Coat & Mittens” Travel Memes Just Keep On Coming!

by SharonKurheg

Senator Bernie Sanders, wearing his sensible coat and made-in-Vermont mittens during the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, is the stuff dreams are made of for meme makers.

I love a good meme as much as the next person. Bernie’s original photo was taken by Brendan Smialowski/AFP and was for Getty Images, but the internet has taken it as its own. I’ve seen Bernie superimposed into a bodega, next to Queen Elizabeth, as the Bernie del Milo, at a basketball game, into lots and lots of movies and TV shows, and too many more to mention.

But, of course, the best ones for me were the travel-related ones.

Joe posted a short series of them yesterday and they were good, but the internet, being the internet, had to say “hold my beer.” That’s how we got these gems:

a man wearing a mask sitting in a chair outside a building

Artist: Unknown

a man sitting in a chair with luggage in front of a reception desk

Even Frontier Airlines got in on the fun:

And, of course, the ultimate travel – space travel!

However my favorite, which I’ll say is travel because hey, it’s at a beach, is this one:

Meanwhile, do you want to add Bernie to a photo of anyplace? As long as you have the address, this website has got you covered. Just click here!

Of course, the popularity of these memes will be done in a hot minute. But until then, they’re good for a smile or two.

Have a nice weekend, travel friends!
