Disney Tourist Blames 6-Year-Old Son When WDW Security Finds Her Hidden Gun

by SharonKurheg

You’re not allowed to bring weapons to Walt Disney World. If you do a quick Google search, you’ll see it’s in their general rules: “Firearms, ammunition, knives and weapons of any kind are prohibited” on WDW property.

Of course, that didn’t seem to stop this guy from bringing his guns (yes, guns; plural) to WDW last month. But he, at least, didn’t make it to the parks with his guns; just his hotel.

But now the Orlando Sentinel has reported about another tourist with a gun at Disney, and this story is even wilder!

Apparently Marcie Temple, a resident of Lithonia, Georgia, was on vacation at WDW with her family, including her 6-year-old son. They were going to Magic Kingdom for the day and were on line to get their temperatures taken (ever since reopening post-COVID, all Disney parks check all guests’ temperatures before allowing them to enter the park).

According to the arrest report, an employee who was taking peoples’ temperatures noticed that Temple took something out of her stroller and put it behind a planter. The employee notified a member of Disney Security. They, in turn, contacted Orange County Deputy Nadia Engwall, who was nearby.

Engwall examined the area where Temple had been and found a pink purse with a 9mm gun inside. The gun was loaded with 10 bullets, including one in the chamber. The butt of the firearm was readily accessible if the purse was opened.

Temple then told Engwall that the purse was hers, so Engwall asked the woman why she had brought a gun to WDW.

Temple said, “I had told my son to hold it for me and stand right here, so I could get my brother and take it back to the car,” as per the deputy’s report. “He put it down, and messed with the plants and I put them back, but I didn’t know he put it down and I didn’t know he left it over here.”

So she claimed she gave her 6-year-old son the responsibility of holding a gun. Nice.

Anyway, Temple was found to not have a concealed weapon permit for Georgia or Florida and was subsequently arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm.

She’s also been banned from WDW property.

Sad how this country doesn’t follow the us constitution. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The story above seems like an infringement to me….

Walt Disney World is private property – they can make whatever rules they want.
