TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site and millions of people rely on it as a resource for reviews on travel destinations, hotels, restaurants, etc. Of course, you sometimes have to take the reviews people have written with a grain of salt. But when SO MANY people say a place is horrible, you can’t help but think maybe you should stay far, far away from it. Here are what may be the worst of the worst, complete with photos and recent reviews…
(all photos and reviews are from Trip Advisor)
Berkeley Court, London

Pocono Plaza Inn, Stroudsburg, PA
Hotel Printania Porte de Versailles, Paris
The Merchants Hotel, Manchester
Hotel Manhattan, Brussels
So now you know where NOT to stay…;-)

I nominate Golden Gate in Las Vegas for the Top 10 worst.
sometimes you get what you pay for, I have stayed in some sleaze dumps over the 65 years of wondering the World, sleaze hotel or a rustic park bench could have been the choice, I stayed in a hourly hotel near the North Station in Paris, many years (1957) ago, room was eh, the hall traffic was continuous, but still better than a bench in a subway, since those were the choices,
The Miami International Airport Hotel certainly deserves mention. The worst and ugliest airport hotel in North America.
I went to a hotel and I didn’t know it was bad and I had to pay $209 for this kind of hotel and my husband GOT BUG BITES and I called my friend to pick me up because my car ran out of gas and there was no gas here in a guy from the hotel he said why are you leaving you cannot leave for the next night and I just leave and I forgot one stuff so I had to go back there and I had to sneak there to get the thing that I needed and the door was lockedbut then now I open it and I have to go pee so bad when I saw the toilet it was green the water it was so disgusting 😡😡😡 so I will rate this a 1
I take it from the headline that you’re a fan of Trainspotting?
Those are considered 3/4 stars in Europe.
Never been in a decent hotel in England.
Had a curious experience in Venice, found a renovated hotel on the internet (very small room though), made sure it had a nice bathroom and even confirmed it had an ac, but when I got there there was no elevator! So I had to bring all the family luggage up 4 floors.
We’ve been to quite a few nice places in England. Renaissance St. Pancras was gorgeous! The Great Northern was really nice, too. Base 2 Nice wasn’t luxurious but it was clean and nice. Same for Hotel Indigo in Kensington.
