Add This One To The List Of Lost Benefits

I was cleaning up my desk, for about the 20th time, and found something I had totally forgotten about. Seeing them made me sad because I know that they are going to be wasted. What did I find? Two unused Southwest Airlines drink coupons.

I know that’s not a big thing for frequent Southwest travelers, but we rarely ever get these. The only reason I have them is that they came with my Southwest Priority credit card. I used two of them on a flight to Texas and put the others aside for a later trip. But we haven’t taken another trip on Southwest since.

We were supposed to be taking a Southwest flight to New Orleans but that didn’t happen and now the coupons are going to expire at the end of next month.

I’d offer them to someone but they’re no good at the moment because Southwest has suspended beverage service on their flights.

The well-being of our Customers and Employees is our uncompromising priority onboard every Southwest flight. In accordance with health officials’ recommendations to limit close public interactions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Southwest is temporarily suspending all onboard beverage and snack service from Wednesday, March 25, 2020 until further notice.

As a last chance attempt at saving them, I sent a Tweet to Southwest. I wasn’t expecting it to work.

Well, it didn’t.

Sorry William, but I can’t see us getting on a plane by the end of next month and even if we did, I don’t think the drink carts will be running. But like he says, you never know what could happen.

Guess we could all use some optimism around now, am I right?
