Second Wave Of WDW’s Disney Springs Reopening To Include Disney-Owned Storefronts

by SharonKurheg

Over a week before Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs begins its first phase of reopenings on May 20, a second phase has already been reported for May 27. The second phase sounds more exciting than the first, with some Disney-owned storefronts being included in the mix.

The Orlando Sentinel has reported that some Disney-owned shops and restaurants will open their doors on May 27th. This would be one week after the Disney-announced “first wave” of reopening, which is scheduled to be on May 20 and will include only third-party vendors.

The information was originally reported in the Hollywood Reporter, who got a tip from Eric Clinton, president of UNITE HERE, Local 362. Apparently, 117 furloughed custodians were called in to begin preparations for the May 20th reopening. As per Clinton, another 59 are being called in to work to prepare for the additional storefronts that will open just ahead of Memorial Day weekend.

Some of the “first phase” storefronts and kiosks that will open on May 20th include:

  • 4 Rivers Cantina food truck
  • Erin McKenna’s Bakery
  • Häagen-Dazs
  • Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company
  • Polite Pig
  • STK
  • Sunshine Churros
  • Wine Bar George
  • Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill
  • YeSake

There’s no list of what will reopen on May 28th, although Clinton did specify the World Of Disney Store and Disney eateries.

As of this writing, there is no information about the May 28th phase of reopening on Disney’s website and, as per the Sentinel, “Disney World has not made an official announcement yet, a spokeswoman said when asked to comment.”
