How To Get Free Tickets For TV Show Tapings In New York City

New York City has so much to offer. Shopping! Restaurants! Broadway shows! One thing a lot of people try to get are tickets to TV tapings. After all, they’re free, and you get to see some of your favorite celebrities. AND you might get shown in the audience on national television!

Here’s a list of how to get tickets for some of the most popular shows that are done in NY.

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah

Taping Location: 733 11th Avenue
Taping Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:00pm (check in starts at 4pm)
Airs: Comedy Central, Weeknights, 11:00pm
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available 2 months in advance. Click here to request up to 4 tickets.
Notes: Must be age 18 or older. Tapings usually end 7:30 to 8:30pm

The Dr. Oz Show

Taping Location: ABC Studios, 320 W 66th St
Taping Schedule: 10am and 3pm three days a week (the days of the week vary). Arrive at least 75 minutes before the taping begins
Airs: Fox, weekdays, 12pm ET
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available about 3 weeks in advance. Click here to request up to 5 tickets.
How To Get Standby Tickets: Standby tickets are available most taping days at 8:30am and 12:30pm
Notes: Must be age 18 or older

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee

Taping Location: CBS Broadcast Center, 528 W 57th St
Taping Schedule: Wednesdays, 5:45pm (arrive by 5pm)
Airs: TBS, Wednesdays, 10:30pm
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available 2-3 weeks in advance. Click here to request up to 4 tickets.
Notes: Must be age 18 or older

Good Morning America

Taping Location: 1500 Broadway
Taping Schedule: Weekdays, 7am to 9am (arrive at least 30 minutes before the call time on your ticket)
Airs: ABC, Weekdays, 7am to 9am
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available about a month in advance. Click here to request up to 10 tickets
Notes: All audience members must have an adult at least 18 years of age with them.

Inside The Actors Studio

Taping Location: Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University, 3 Spruce St
Taping Schedule: Varies. Is announced via mailing list
Airs: Ovation, Various dates
How To Get Tickets: You can request up to 2 tickets by emailing insidetheactorstudio@pace.edu. A standby line forms outside the taping location beginning one hour prior to taping.

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver

Taping Location: CBS Broadcast Center, 530 W 57th St
Taping Schedule: Sundays, 6:45pm (arrive by 6pm)
Airs: HBO, Sundays
How To Get Tickets: Click here to request up to 4 tickets. Individuals may attend once every 4 seasons
Notes: Must be age 18 or older

Late Night With Seth Meyers

Taping Location: NBC Studios, 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Taping Schedule: Monday to Thursday at 6:30 pm (check in is between 4:45pm and 5:30pm)
Airs: Weeknights, 12:35am
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available about a month ahead of time. Click here to request up to 4 tickets. Individuals may attend once every 4 months. Once you have submitted a ticket request, you will be placed on their waitlist queue. If they’re able to offer you tickets for the date you requested, you’ll be contacted by email with instructions on how to confirm your request. Not all ticket requests can be honored, and they’ll contact you only if your ticket request has been approved.
Notes: Must be age 16 or older, appropriate dress. The entire experience will be about 3 hours

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Taping Location: Ed Sullivan Theater, 1697 Broadway
Taping Schedule: Weekdays, 5:00pm (arrive no later than 3:15pm)
Airs: CBS, Weeknights, 11:35pm
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Click here to request up to 2 tickets. Individuals may attend once every 6 months.
Notes: Must be age 16 or older, Broadway casual attire. Tapings usually last 60 to 90 minutes

Live With Kelly and Ryan

Taping Location: ABC Studios, 7 Lincoln Square (West 67th St and Columbus Ave)
Taping Schedule: Weekdays at 7:45 am (you receive check-in info when you request tickets)
Airs: ABC, 9:00am ET
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available about a month in advance. Click here to request up to 4 tickets
Notes: Must be age 16 or older

The Rachael Ray Show

Am I a bad person because my friends and I have called her “Rae Ray” for years? 😉
Taping Location: 221 W 26th St
Taping Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:00am, 2:30pm and 4:00pm (arrive an hour before the taping begins)
Airs: Varies by location

Standby Tickets: The availability of standby tickets varies daily. The arrival time to receive a standby voucher is 10:00 a.m. (for the 11:00 a.m. taping) 12:00 p.m. (for the 1:30 p.m. taping) and 3:15p.m. (for the 4:15p.m. taping)
Notes: Must be age 16 or older with a valid government issued ID. Business casual dress code, preferably solid, jewel-toned colors (deep blues, reds, greens, etc.).

Saturday Night Live

Taping Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Taping Schedule: Saturdays, 8 pm dress rehearsal (arrive no later than 7pm) or the 11:30 pm live broadcast (arrive no later than 10:30pm)
Airs: NBC, Saturdays, 11:30pm
How To Get Tickets: Tickets are offered once a year, in August. To enter the lottery, send an email to snltickets@nbcuni.com. You may only send one email per person. Submissions entered before or after the ticket lottery window will not be considered. If you are selected, you will receive two tickets for a random show date and time. “May the odds forever be in your favor.” 😉
Standby Cards: If space permits, standby cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Standby cards are distributed at 7 am on the morning of a show. The line will form at 48th street and the South plaza. Most people in the standby queue camp out overnight.
Notes: Must be age 16 or older

Today

Taping Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Taping Schedule: Weekdays, 7am to 11am, Saturday 7am to 9am
Airs: NBC, Weekdays, 7am to 11am, Saturday 7am to 9am

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Taping Location: NBC Studios, 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Taping Schedule: Weekdays, 5:00pm (arrive no later than 3:45pm)
Airs: NBC, Weeknights, 11:35pm
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available the first week of the month before (read: If you want tickets for a taping in March, they become available the first week of February). Click here to request up to 4 tickets and for more info.
Notes: Must be age 16 or older, appropriate attire. Entire experience will be about 3 hours

The View

Taping Location: ABC Television Studios, 57 W 66th St
Taping Schedule: Weekdays, 11:00am (arrive no later than 9:30am)

Notes: Must be age 16 or older, dress is upscale casual (“as if you were going to a nice dinner?), with bright, vibrant colors. No solid black or white clothing, shorts, T-shirts, sleeveless tops, hats, or attire with large logos

The Wendy Williams Show

Taping Location: 221 W 26th St
Taping Schedule: Monday to Thursday at 10am for the live taping (arrive at 8am). For the 1:45pm taping, arrive at 12:15pm
Airs: Varies by location
How To Get Tickets: Tickets become available about 3 weeks in advance. Click here to request up to 4 tickets (no more than 2 ticket requests per month)
Notes: Must be age 18 or older
