The Drury Hotel chain has announced it will open a location on Walt Disney World (WDW) property.
Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista will replace the Best Western Lake Buena Vista, which is located on Hotel Plaza Blvd., in the Disney Springs area of the WDW complex.
Besides rebranding the hotel, Drury is adding a new tower to the property, increasing the number of rooms from 325 to 604, and allowing for more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space.

This will be the second Drury Hotel in the Central Florida area (one opened near Universal Orlando in 2012) and the first one on Disney property. It will also be the chain’s largest property to date.

As reported on PR Newswire, the hotel will feature a resort-style pool, splash pad and poolside cantina bar and grill; an extensive marketplace for grab-and-go food items and sundries; and a kitchen and bar concept, in addition to a wide range of complimentary amenities, including:
- Wi-Fi throughout the hotel
- Hot breakfast, including pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, yogurt and more
- 5:30 Kickback® reception including appetizers and beverages
- 24-hour business and fitness centers
With over 150 hotels in 25 states, the family owned Drury Hotels has been recognized by J.D. Power with the award for “Highest in Guest Satisfaction Among Upper Midscale Hotel Chains” for the past 14 years in a row.
The soon-to-be former Best Western Lake Buena Vista is currently taking reservations through January 30, 2020. The first phase of the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista, with the availability of 264 rooms, is expected to be completed in 2021.

I imagine this Drury property’s 5:30PM Evening Reception will be pretty packed with families trying to save money, utilizing the Appetizers as a meal.
I guess that’ll be a win/win for everyone, then 🙂
