Resort Fees: An Easy Way To Find Out How Much Your Hotel Charges

Whether we like it or not, it appears that resort fees are here to stay. Even with the good work of websites like, the genie seems to be out of the bottle and I personally think the best we’re going to get is what happened in the U.K., so that such fees won’t be as difficult to find as they are nowadays.

That being said, at least there are some ways out there nowadays to find out approximately what the resort fee is going to be, instead of surprising you upon arrival. One of them is super easy. Take a look… has been around since 2014, so it’s not new; it’s just new to me ;-). Its job is simple – to tell you what the resort fee will be at the hotel(s) you punch in. It has this information (sometimes updated, sometimes in need of the same) for over 2000 hotels worldwide.

Say you want to stay at the Walt Disney World Swan for one night. It’s a Sheraton property, which means you’d need Marriott Bonvoy points. But you’ve heard so much about being #bonvoyed that you don’t have points for their properties, so you decide to pay cash. You’re a little strapped for cash though, so you want to have a decent idea of how much your final cost will be. Here’s how you’d find out:

  • WDW Dolphin Website – You have to pick dates, how many people and how many rooms you’d want in order to find out what the resort fee is. However, the fee is posted and highlighted on the top of the page

  • – You have to pick dates, how many people and how many rooms you’d want in order to find out what the resort fee is. The resort fee is ALLLLL the way down on the bottom of the page in the section called the “small print.” You’ll have to be looking for it to find it.

  • – You have to go all the way up to reserving the room before you find out what the resort fee is.

But if you use, you just type in the name of the hotel

And all of the info you need is there:

So yeah… is not a new thing. Not even close ;-). But if you’ve never heard of it, it’s new to you, just like it was to me. Whatever the case, it’s a nice little addition to your travel bag of tricks.
