We’ve Told You Why To Use A VPN When You Travel – Here’s A Great Price For One!

by SharonKurheg

As Joe and I have written in the past (here and here), when you’re traveling, it’s a really, REALLY good idea to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). A VPN, (as per Wikipedia) “…enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. Applications running across the VPN may therefore benefit from the functionality, security, and management of the private network.” (in other words, it gives you privacy when you’re online so no one can hack your passwords, banking or purchasing info, etc.).

If you already have a VPN, AWESOMESAUCE! But if you don’t have one, or if you’re in the market for a new one, we just got word of a great price on what has become our VPN of choice…

We originally told you about TunnelBear in this post – how our previous VPN didn’t work with my new Chromebook so we switched to TunnelBear. It’s been working just fine for us and we love everything that it does:

  • Hide Your IP Address & Location

Your IP address is the unique number that websites use to determine your physical location and track you across different sites. Use TunnelBear VPN to keep your IP address private from websites, hackers and advertisers.

  • Secure Your Data

TunnelBear VPN shields your personal information from prying third-parties and hackers on public WiFi, ISPs and other local networks. Your connection is secured with bear-grade (that’s strong) AES 256-bit encryption. We do NOT log your network activity.

  • Experience an Open & Global Internet

TunnelBear VPN can “tunnel” you to another country with a less restricted Internet. Enjoy browsing from anywhere you are in the world to one of 20 countries in our ever expanding network. TunnelBear VPN makes it easy to get around blocked sites and censorship.

  • Safe & Convenient Travel

Safely access your email, favorite sites, domestic news and entertainment while travelling abroad. TunnelBear VPN can bypass restrictions, keep your online activity secure and help you stay connected with life back home.

  • Block Online Trackers

There are countless ways you are being tracked by advertisers, social media and other companies. TunnelBear blocks many of the common ways you can be tracked. Use TunnelBear VPN to limit advertisers from tracking everything you and your family do online.

  • Stream Faster

Use TunnelBear VPN to get around your ISP’s efforts to slow or throttle your Internet connection and sidestep network gridlock. A VPN also prevents your ISP from monitoring your online activity.

They’re having a Spring Sale right now that’s live from Friday, March 30 @ 9:00AM EST until Wednesday, April 4 @ 9:00AM EST. During the sale, you can score an annual TunnelBear subscription for only $49.88/year. That’s a 58% discount when compared to their monthly pricing!

Interested? Great! Just CLICK HERE to get started!

(full disclosure: if you use our above referral link, we’ll get a small kickback).

This is the funny part…

If you haven’t figured it out yet, neither Joe nor I are sportsing sort of people. Not that there’s anything wrong with it if you are, but for us, it’s just…meh. So anyway, when TunnelBear sent us the email to let us know about the Spring Sale, they included the following:

The sale coincides with the highly streamed March Madness Final Four and Championship (March 31st and April 2nd)! This can be a great chance to create some new content and capitalize on the increase in VPN related searches.

…And we’re like, “Sportsing, sportsing, sportsing, dates, VPN” 😉 So yeah, that approach won’t be coming from us. 😉 BUT if you’re in the market for a really good VPN and want a really good price on it, we certainly wouldn’t mind if you used our referral link (again, just CLICK HERE). Thanks!

We have plenty more just like it and would love if you decided to hang around and clicked the button on the top (if you’re on your computer) or the bottom (if you’re on your phone/tablet) of this page to follow our blog and get emailed notifications of when we post (it’s usually just once or twice a day).
