Snack Cart: The Most Important Part of the Flight?

I recently flew on Delta in Basic Economy and because of that, Sharon and I were separated for two of four of our flights. The experience wasn’t that bad but there was one thing that bugged me. In fact, I even wrote on a Facebook group after the trip just to vent:

Nodded off during the flight and I missed out on my Biscoff cookies (and the person next to me didn’t save me a pack).

I missed out on the Biscoff cookies. For those of you who have never flown on Delta and had these cookies, I’m sorry your life is not complete. It’s just something about being handed two cookies while soaring above the clouds that makes Delta Biscoff better than the other earthbound cookies.

This got me to thinking, what snacks to I like to eat when flying?

Delta Airlines

No secret here. I love Biscoff cookies. Why they even offer pretzels as a second option is a mystery to me but amazingly, some people choose those over these cookies.

The unique taste stems from the sugar’s caramelization during the baking process. And a hint of cinnamon and other spices add that special something.

While looking up information about this article, I found out about this:

biscoff krispy kreme
Only in the UK??????? How could they?

United Airlines

Daelmans-stroopwafels-coming-to-the-USDespite all of the negative press about United Airlines, their introduction of Stroopwafels has been generally praised. These Dutch treats are available at several US retailers but many people are introduced to them on a United flight, as I was. Now, they’re not Biscoff cookies, but they’re still good.

JetBlue has always been an airline that does things a bit differently. Their snack selection was always forward thinking, with gluten free, nut free and healthy options available long before they became mainstream.

Skeeter Nut Free Chocolate Chip cookies has been my go to snack on JetBlue but I still have other options to change it up.  The Popcorners are nice for a change but I wish I had someone to remind me I am not a fan of the Terra Chips when I go to grab a bag of them (note from Sharon: You never told me. I’ll remind you next time).

Peanuts or Pretzels. Southwest takes it old school with the snacks. Just what you expect in little packages that are almost impossible to open but everyone takes one. You can even get one of each if you want. Just ask nicely.

I didn’t realize how much I identified each airline with a specific snack. I look forward to the snack cart rolling down the aisle and the one flight I slept through it, I really felt like I missed out on something special.
