Don’t Miss Out on Free Money With These AMEX Offers

by joeheg

I’ve written before about how AMEX offers are one of the easiest ways to offset the annual fees charged by American Express cards. If you happen to have an AMEX card without an annual fee, then it’s free money from American Express, which is even better!

Here are some of the current AMEX offers available:

Boxed.com – Spend $75 or more at Boxed.com and earn a $25 statement credit.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a little behind the times when it comes to Boxed.com. Up until today, I didn’t have much of an idea of what they even sold there. Apparently they sell household products, along with restaurant gift cards and stamps. I recommend the posts by Mommy Points and Deals We Like on how to maximize this offer. That’s what I did.

Five Guys – Get a one-time $5 statement credit for a single purchase over $20.

The west coast has In-N-Out, the northeast has White Castle but for us, we go to Five Guys when we want a quick, cheap burger with fries. I think we’ll get our $5 back with this offer.

Rocco’s Tacos – Spend $50 or more and get a $10 statement credit.

This is more of a local offer as there are only seven locations and six of them are in Florida. However, one of the locations is only 20 minutes from our house and they do have really good tacos and margaritas. This offer might get some usage.

California Pizza Kitchen – Spend $40 or more and get $10 back.

We used to go on dates to CPK so it has a place for us, but the one that was closest to us closed. If you still frequent there for the BBQ chicken pizza, this offer is great for you. Just don’t try to redeem at the airport or at your university common, as these locations are excluded.

Petco.com – Spend $50 or more and get $15 back.

Our puppy would love if we bought her $50 worth of toys at Petco.com. Note: this offer is only for online purchases, not at the store.

Nike.com Gift Cards – Spend a minimum of $50 on E-Gift cards and get a $10 credit.

I used to buy my sneakers at the local Nike outlet and it looks like gift cards purchased from giftcards.nike.com would be good to use there, as per the website.  This would be a good way to save another 20% off my purchase of already discounted sneakers.

LaQuinta Hotels – Spend $100 or more and get a $20 statement credit.

This would be a great deal if you are planning on a trip for summer as the offer is from 7/10 – 9/10/17.  We’ve stayed at LaQuintas in Texas before and they are just fine for a place to stay (and they’re dog friendly).

MGM Resorts – Las Vegas – Spend $250 or more and get a $50 statement credit.

This offer is just ending before our stay in Las Vegas this fall and I’m trying to figure out how I’d be able to take advantage of it but I think it’s a lost cause for me. However, if you’re going to Vegas…

Hilton Hotels in the UK – Spend $500 or more and get a $100 statement credit.

Hotels in the big cities of the UK aren’t cheap. If you’re staying at any Hilton portfolio property and pay with A U.S. CARD, you will get $100 back if you spend over $500..

Hulu – Spend $50 or more, get $50 back.

If you spend a total of $50 more by 5/23/18, you will get a $50 statement credit. If you’re already paying for Hulu, it might pay to change your payment to your AMEX if targeted for this offer. We have it and I’m thinking of signing up for several months for free.

Telecharge.com – Spend $75 – get 1,500 Membership Rewards points.

This is an amazing offer if you will be getting tickets for a Broadway show this fall as most theaters deal with Telecharge.

Final thoughts

This list is just a start of the over 100 offers listed for some of our American Express Cards. I’ve never heard of some of the merchants before but maybe you have. It’s a great way to save money for not a whole lot of work. If you have more than one American Express card and see the offer on multiple cards, once you select the offer on one card it will disappear from your other cards. That is, unless you follow these steps I found on Frequent Miler. I use multiple browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) instead of multiple tabs  when signing up, but it’s the same principle.

Multiple Browser Tabs

Open your American Express account in multiple tabs on the same browser.  Within each tab, pick a different credit card and navigate to the “Amex Offers & Benefits” section. Once all browser tabs show a different credit card, but the same offer, then go one by one to each tab and click “Add to Card”. This needs to be done fairly quickly or else you will get an error message.

Are you going to take advantage of any of these offers? Did you find any others on your account(s) that I didn’t mention? I hope that you’re going to enjoy your free AMEX money!

Like this post? We have plenty more just like it and would love if you decided to hang around and clicked the button on the top of this page to follow our blog and get emailed notifications of when we post (it’s usually just once or twice a day).
