Lobby of Waldorf=Astoria in NYC

Ah, the Waldorf Astoria. The name alone conjures up thoughts of exquisite accommodations, unparalleled service and high end everything. Joe and I were lucky enough to stay at the original Waldorf=Astoria in NYC earlier this year, just before it closed for a 3-year renovation, thanks to what was, essentially, an offer that we think never should have been approved (from a business standpoint) before it was published. That was when they advertised “Stay two or more nights and get one night free, AND receive a $75 Visa gift card” and we grabbed the offer before it was pulled :-). So we stayed at the Waldorf=Astoria for 2 nights, got one of the nights for free AND got a $75 Visa gift card, because yup, that’s how the ad could be interpreted. WINNING!

Almost unbelievably, the offer has been introduced again, and
this time it’s written the way it’s supposed to be (“Stay 3 or more nights and enjoy your 3rd night free”). Which still isn’t such a bad deal…just not as good as staying for 2 nights, getting one of them free and getting a $75 gift card on top of it, LOL!

Visa Signature & InfiniteThe offer is open to Visa Signature® or Visa Infinite® members (just check your Visa card and if it says Signature or Infinite under the Visa logo, you’re good to go!). It must be booked on a Visa Luxury Hotel Collection website or through a Visa Concierge, and the stay must be paid for with your Visa Signature® or Visa Infinite® credit card.

So if you ever wanted to stay at a Waldorf-Astoria (or a Conrad Hotels & Resorts™ or a Curio – A Collection By Hilton™) now might be the best time to do it because you can get your third night free at participating locations for weekend night stays between June 30 and October 31, 2017, if you book by September 30. The one free night per stay is valid for arrivals on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday and a three consecutive night minimum length of stay is required.

If the free night wasn’t good enough, the offer also includes the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection’s seven premium benefits:

  • Best available rate guarantee
  • Automatic room upgrade upon arrival, when available
  • Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi, when available
  • Complimentary continental breakfast daily
  • $25 USD food or beverage credit
  • VIP Guest status
  • 3PM check-out upon request, when available

The New York City Waldorf=Astoria location is, of course, unavailable due to the renovation, but the Conrad New York is, and it’s a gorgeous hotel in the Downtown section of NYC.  Not interested in NY? No problem! Between the three hotel brand, you can stay at some really nice hotels for, say, a long weekend getaway, for a very decent price. For example, the Waldorf-Astoria Orlando, which is connected to Walt Disney World (it’s in Bonnet Creek, a small area surrounded by I-4 and Disney) is on the list, which means you can stay at a 4-star AAA rated fancy shmancy hotel that nearly surrounded by Disney property for less than half the price of one of Disney’s deluxe resort hotels.

Here are all the places where this offer is valid:

Africa

Egypt
Conrad Cairo
South Africa
Conrad Pezula

Sounds interesting? More information to get your started on your booking, including all the rules, regulations and fine print, is available on this page of Visa Signature’s website. Happy traveling!
