Dear Amazon.com, Thanks For The $200

by joeheg

When it comes to the way I earn miles and points, I’ve always considered myself as “Neutral Good.” For those of you who didn’t grow up playing Dungeons and Dragons, you can fall into nine different categories. Here’s a summary of a “Neutral Good”

A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do.

Now while I’d think myself more of a Hermione, when push comes to shove, I’m a Harry (Note from Sharon: I’m Sirius. 100%, LOLOL!).

So what does this mean when it comes to points, miles and travels? Mainly, I’ll stretch the limits a bit I’m eventually going to follow the rules. You know, I’m still an Eagle Scout and all.

I shared a link on our Facebook group yesterday about how you could easily save up to $100 on a $500 purchase from Amazon.com by paying for your purchase with only 1 American Express Membership Rewards point.

For more details on this deal, check out the Frequent Miler or Doctor of Credit posts on this topic.

Between both of our Amazon.com accounts, we saved $200 on a total of $1000 in gift cards for Seasons 52, Outback Steakhouse, Starbucks, Southwest Airlines and Amazon.com. Granted, I’m not a big fan of spending $800 with no exact plans of how to spend it, however I’m as certain as I can be that we’ll spend money at these locations in the near future. After all, just to start, it’s finally Alaskan salmon season and I know we’re going to Seasons 52 in the next month.

Not to mention my Iced Coffee addiction from Starbucks and Sharon’s love of the Victoria’s Filet at Outback. Even if you can’t forward $1,000, or $500, you can still take advantage of this offer. You can save 20% off any order fulfilled by Amazon.com but you only get one shot (or maybe two) at the discount so it pays to max it out when you can.

Most websites are surprised that this deal has lasted as long as it has. I’m not one to jump onto every deal so I missed out on the “Deal of the Year” because I wasn’t sure it would pan out (Spoiler alert: It did and I missed out. Oh, bother). If this deal is still alive, I’d suggest taking advantage as much as you can. Maybe we’ll catch you at Seasons 52, one of our favorite off Disney property restaurants in Orlando.

To celebrate a social media milestone, we have a sweepstakes going on through July 16th. Click here to learn how you can enter!
